I LOVE being part of the sailing community because it gives you the opportunity to meet so many interesting people and make new friends.

It's only 32 degrees here in San Carlos, believe it or not, but it was hot, hot, hot the other night at our dinner party with our new friends Suzanne & Tom from s/v Begone and Chris from s/v Carinna, and Frank from s/v Pacific Bliss whom we had met that last time we were in the Sea of Cortez. Suanne, Tom and Chris are musicians; Chris has a PhD in music and I think he could play anything you handed him.
Suzanne really wanted to get together for a BBQ at the Adlai apartments where they were staying and jam. Fortunately for us, we were invited and enjoyed an incredible shish kabob dinner and unbelievable performance.
Suzanne had assembled all the necessary ingredients and instructed us on assembly. I rounded out the menu with some tequila marinated chicken breasts.
Tom's BBQ skills were excellent.
He wondered why the flames shot up when he put the chicken on and knew immediately when I said tequila.
While dinner was cooking I explored the little calle that the Adlai was located on. One home was still celebrating the Christmas season with lights and a yard full of decorations including a snowman (which you can just make out in the middle).
Suzanne on auto harp, Tom on the fiddle and Chris on the guitar and the jam session started. OMG We were stunned. I felt like I was back in Columbia during our "good ole days" listening to Tom sing and fiddle. Each musician showcased in turn. Chris and Tom switch instruments and the music continued to heat up. After dinner and an outrageous chocolate and caramel cake provided by Frank, Tom and Chris started "dueling" to the point of playing so fast it made me dizzy!
Thanks Suzanne and friends for an absolutely wonderful evening.
PS I feel really guilty pilfering the grapefruit.
